Contacting us

As a new patient, what will I be asked to do?

First, learn about our services from this website and the FAQ. We'll ask you to download some patient forms to fill out before your first visit. Then you'll be ready for your introductory appointment where we will plan your personalized program.

Do you accept insurance?

No. Fees for all services are payable to COREhealth at the time of service. We provide visit and diagnosis codes on your invoice which you submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. All communications about insurance issues are between you and your insurance company. We ignore their inquiries or refer them to you.

What are your billing and insurance policies?

Patients are responsible for full payment at the time of service. Services are charged to patients not to any insurance company.

We do not have a conventional billing system and cannot provide year-end summaries.

COREhealth does not participate with Medicare or collect from or negotiate with insurance companies. We provide procedure and diagnosis codes which most closely fit the unique professional services we offer. It is the patient's responsibility to answer questions asked by their insurance company. We know of no law stating that reimbursement requires a procedure or diagnosis code.

Lab test CPT codes are provided to us as a courtesy by several laboratories. We extend that courtesy to our patients with the understanding that we are not responsible for updating these codes.

What if my invoice does not contain a diagnosis or diagnosis code?

We recommend checking this online ICD-9 code database that contains codes for most diagnoses and procedures.

Your diagnosis was provided by your primary physician. Write in the appropriate code after your diagnosis.

Do you treat Medicare patients?

We opted out of Medicare several years ago. However, we treat Medicare-eligible patients only if they agree not to bill Medicare or to ask us to bill Medicare, even if the items and services would otherwise be covered by Medicare.

Do you provide routine medical services like physical exams and PAP smears?

No, we are not a primary or urgent medical care facility.

We specialize in functional medicine, nutritional physiology, classical homeopathy, cranial osteopathy, and bio-identical (natural) hormone balancing.

We recommend that our patients maintain a relationship with a primary care provider for routine physical examinations and emergency services.

Should I stop my medication before coming to COREhealth?

No. We encourage you to be frank with your primary care physician. Tell your doctor about your plans to become healthy and drug free and ask for his/her help reaching this goal.

What if I run out of my homeopathic remedy before my next appointment?

This is common. We need to see how you do both on and off your remedy. The purpose of a remedy is to boost the efficiency of normal healing processes. It is important to learn how you feel with and without medicine.

What if I run out of other products before my next appointment?

When you order nutritional products, calculate how much you will need to last until your next appointment. If you run out of a product before your next appointment, it will be just fine to take a break for a few days or weeks.

What if I have a question about a specific nutritional supplement before my next appointment?

Please use your intuition and honor your body's wisdom or discontinue it until your next appointment.

Why are your supplements not available in stores?

Most retail outlets sell products that have a fast turnover at a low cost, and they are unaware of what makes one supplement better than another.

Our supplements contain cofactors (natural enzymes), which allow nutrients to go where they need to go in your body. We are very careful choosing nutraceutical manufacturers.

Why do the shipping and handling (S/H) costs vary so much between companies?

Shipping costs vary from zero to over $20.

For large companies (e.g., Metagenics), if an order is large enough, the profit on the order offsets shipping costs, especially if you order online.

For mid-size companies (e.g., Standard Process and Biogenesis, S/H is not automated and their costs are higher.

If we ship an order to you from our office, a nominal fee is charged to cover packaging materials and postage.

I know how to order Metagenics products online, but how do I order other products online?

Most nutraceutical manufacturers do not have online store capability. During your office visit we encourage you to purchase enough products to last until your next appointment with us, unless otherwise specified by DJ or Dr Schore.

Meanwhile, we will be happy to ship these products to you. Usually we ship (U.S. Postal Service) from our office once weekly. The average shipping cost is $10.

What are your regular office hours?

Usually from 12:00pm to 6:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday, but we make exceptions to suit patients' schedules.

Why don't you have a receptionist?

From the moment of your first contact with COREhealth we treat you as a unique individual and synthesize everything you have to say. This type of interaction requires the skills of a highly-trained professional who can make sophisticated decisions, and the professionals at COREhealth also serve in the capacity of receptionist. You may have to wait for one of us to call you back, but you'll be happier with the outcome.

What is your fax number?

Our fax is for more urgent communications. Please send medical records and routine communications by U.S. Postal Service.

Do you have email?

Yes, however, to avoid being overloaded with email, we do not publish it. We'll be happy to provide it to you directly. The best way to reach us is by telephone.

We try to respond to emails in a timely fashion, but often this is not possible due to numerous emails and time constraints. If you don’t receive a timely reply to your email, please call 253.857.8000 and leave us a voicemail message.

Should I leave messages on your voicemail to update my progress?

No, not unless we ask you to do so. Our voicemail is only for scheduling and canceling appointments.

Please organize your notes and questions and bring them to your next appointment. If you want to send updating information, please keep a copy for yourself and mail it to us. We will add it to your file.

What if I have urgent issues that cannot wait until my next appointment and do not require emergency medical services?

You may call Dr Schore’s private telephone number provided in our telephone voicemail message.

Please note there is a minimum charge of $75 ($125 if after hours) for this service, payable with your credit card which we have on file. Please be sure to keep your credit card updated with us.
